Katayama Laboratory is engaged in research and development of next-generation energy systems from the perspective of chemical engineering.

Welcome to Katayama Lab!
Currently, we are focusing on system development of fusion reactors, which are expected as future energy sources, and research on hydrogen energy systems. This is an important research that we should work on now for the bright future of humankind. Would you like to study with us?

Mr.Portuphy in D1, Mr.Yang, Mr. Masuta and Mr.Sun in M1, and Mr.Hu as a research student have joined the laboratory members.
 2021/9/8-10 Mr. Ipponsugi in D1, and Mr. Isogawa, Mr. Takahashi, Mr. Matsumoto, Mr. Wada gave oral presentations at the Atomic Energy Society of Japan held online. Mr. Itokawa also gave a poster presentation and received the Encouragement Award !
 2021/4/5 Mr. Ichikawa, Mr. Nakamura, Mr. Masuta, and Mr. Yamada in B4, have joined the laboratory members.
 2021/3/24  The Kyushu University Degree Conferral Ceremony was held. Mr. Ikeda, Mr. Ipponsugi, Mr. Ito, Mr. Sakai, and Mr. Henzan in M2 have obtained master's degrees. Mr. Ito and Mr. Henzan are double degrees with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Mr. Ipponsugi is a double degree with Busan University. Mr. Takahashi, Mr. Haruta, Mr. Matsumoto, and Mr. Wada in B4 have obtained bachelor's degrees.
2021/3/19  Mr. Ipponsugi and Associate Professor Katayama gave presentations at the Atomic Energy Society of Japan held online.
2021/3/17 Associate Professor Katayama made a presentation on the release behavior of tritium from neutron-irradiated molten salt at TMS2021 held online. 
2021/2/1  Dr. Aji from Indonesia has joined our laboratory as a postdoc.
2020/11/16-19 Mr. Matano and Associate Professor Katayama gave presentations at TOFE 2020 held online.
2020/11/3-6  Mr. Hara, Mr. Oyama, and Associate Professor Katayama participated online at APSOT-3 held at the University of Toyama and presented their research. Mr. Oyama won the award!
 2020/11/2 Mr. Ipponsugi and Associate Professor Katayama participated in the online Japan-Korea Tritium Workshop and presented their research.
 2020/10/27-29 Mr. Ipponsugi, Mr. Kubo, Assistant Professor Otaku, and Associate Professor Katayama conducted experiments at the Kyoto University Research Reactor.
2020/10/1  Mr. Chen, Kyushu University Research Student, went back to Sichuan University.
2020/9/20-25 Mr. Ipponsugi, Mr. Henzan, Mr. Kubo, Mr. Matano, and Associate Professor Katayama gave presentations at SOFT31 held online.
2020/9/23 We had a farewell party for Mr. Chen of Sichuan University.

2019/12/23 Mr. Kubo, Mr. Matano, and Associate Professor Katayama visited the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP) and had a discussion on molten salt reactor research.
2019/11/29-12/2 At the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Fusion held at Chubu University, Mr. Susan from neparl, Mr. Tsukahara, Mr. Suematsu, Assistant Professor Oya, and Associate Professor Katayama reported their research results.
2019/11/26 Associate Professor Katayama visited the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP) and had a discussion on tritium science and technology.
2019/11/24-25 Mr. Ito and Mr. Henzan participated in CSS-EEST held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Associate Professor Katayama made a Keynote Speech.
2019/11/11-12 Professor Liu Wei and Dr. Zhang Dongxun from SINAP visited our laboratory to discuss tritium researches.
2019/11/1 Associate Professor Katayama visited the University of California, Berkeley and gave a seminar lecture.

2019/4/26 Prof. Raluca Scarlat of the University of California, Berkeley visited our laboratory and had a discussion on molten salt research.
2019/4/23 Associate Professor Katayama reported on the research results on the behavior of tritium in soil at the Tritium International Conference held in Busan, South Korea.
2019/3/9 A retirement celebration for Professor Satoshi Fukada was held.
